His passion for the history, culture makes an incredible guide and he loves sharing his knowledge that inherited from his ancestors.

Kooks

The Best Cooks in the Andes!

Inka Trail Explorer has a professional staff of Cooks, all of them went to the culinary school, where they learned the Peruvian and International cuisine, and they are the most experienced cooks and their cooking are amazing and exquisite.

Porters

The best Inca trail Porters

We understand clearly that we could not be successful without our team of porters. They work endlessly to make possible the trek and guarantee a magical journey for all of our clients, so we have made an important promise to them to do what we can to make this difficult job a little less daunting.

Most of our porters live in a little villages outside of Cusco 3/4 hours away. We cover all entrance fees (45 soles – $15 US per porter) separate from their salary. They are paid directly after the trek, which prevents them from traveling back to Cusco before heading home. Unfortunately, this is an uncommon practice by regular companies.

They receive better wages, health insurance and all of their equipment for free. This includes hiking boots, pants, jerseys, fleeces, jackets, hats, flashlights, sleeping bags, and amazing food to eat. We make sure they have a comfortable bed in a lovely room to sleep before (and after if needed) the trek instead of crashing on a floor like others. We visit the communities they live in and supply toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and other needed supplies to their families, as well as books for their children.
